Engagement Photos - Sauvie Island

If you didn't have a chance to read my previous post, then I'll fill you in. Ryan and I had our engagement photos taken last weekend. We went for a winter sunrise theme. We didn't exactly have a choice on the winter portion, since it's freezing outside. But we loved the fog and frost and wanted to make sure it was incorporated in our photos.

Our first stop was Pittock Mansion at sunrise. Our second stop was Sauvie Island in Portland, Oregon. We barely had to go onto the island to get some gorgeous scenery. I think my favorite photos are with the river behind us. We also chose to incorporate a lace-like blanket in some of the shots. Our wedding theme is lace and I thought this would be a simple (and warm) way to set the tone for our wedding. I had seen some photos on pinterest that used the scrabble pieces, so we also gave this a try by spelling out our wedding date and using my ring as the "o". I love how the pictures turned out!

My feet were numb by the end of this shoot, but it was well worth it to get these beautiful shots.

Engagement Photos - Pittock Mansion

Last weekend, my fiance, Ryan and I took our engagement photos. It was an awesome experience! First stop was Pittock Mansion, a French Renaissance-style "château" in the West Hills of Portland, Oregon. It was originally built as a private home for The Oregonian publisher Henry Pittock and his wife.

We set out early in the morning for sunrise, and boy was that a great idea because we had beautiful views and great lighting as the sun rose over Portland. Pittock Mansion soars 1,000 feet above the city's skyline and has fabulous views of downtown. It was quite foggy in the city below which made for awesome pictures as the tall buildings seemed to rise out of the clouds.

Though it was cold, in the 20s or so, it was well worth it!

Wedding Fever

First off, I want to apologize for not blogging in over a month... things have been crazy!

I recently got engaged, and with the holidays and work, I lost track of time & my blog suffered. It also doesn't help that my home computer crashed on us, so I currently don't have any of my fashion photos.

On a happier note, I'm excited to start planning my wedding and can't wait to share all the news with you.

I have a lot to get done, but I wanted to go ahead and post my color scheme/collage that I came up with :)
