I don't have much to say about this outfit... can't really go wrong with my favorite black skinny jeans, a comfy oversized tee, a scarf, sequined shoes, and a bow in my hair :)

long time, no see

Long time, no see... well I guess no post is more accurate. I've been quite busy the last week. It was my boyfriend's 25th birthday, so we enjoyed some birthday festivities including  friends, family, breweries, steak & beer! So please excuse my absence over the last week. 

The outfit above is actually something I wore a week or so ago, although, this tee is one of my favorites and I'm actually wearing it right now. It's from Old Navy, was on sale for $5, has the perfect amount of v-neck, is soft, and fits well. Everything that adds up to a great tee. I had some drama with it over the weekend however. First I spilled oil on it... which as some of you may know, is fricken hard to get out! I ended up using 2 different stain removers and washing it twice. I can still faintly see the stain, but my boyfriend assures me it isn't noticeable. Then later that night, I had it hanging up in the car, when we gave my friends a ride. I told them to just throw the tee in the seat next to them. The next day, I went to grab the tee and couldn't find it to save my life. My friends had no clue where the tee had gone (they may have been a little intoxicated after birthday festivities). I gave up on the tee, thinking it must have fallen outside of the car when we dropped them off. I loved the tee so much and realized I couldn't live without it, so I ran to Old Navy and bought another. Only to find out later that day, that my friend found the tee in her car... still not exactly sure how that happened, but at this point, I don't care, haha. Glad to have it back, and have a back-up in case it gets stained, lost, stolen, or who knows.

NEW CORAL SKINNIES! I'm so excited about these new, bright skinny jeans I got from Forever 21 last week. You may remember from a recent post that I did some online shopping. Well I got my package, and miraculously, everything fits! Including these super cute skinnies. The color is a little brighter than what I expected, but I still love them. They are a great light pink/coral color and I think they will be easy to dress up or down. 

Since these pants are new and I'm not use to matching them with anything yet, I kept it simple with a black tee and dressed it up a bit with gold jewelry and my new gold ballet flats, which I'm also loving!

 Below I'm trying out an awesome Photoshop action I found at The Totally Rad Store! This website has some cool editing resources for creative photographers. Check it out! You can find some free Photoshop & Lightroom actions/presets. And if you like them, they have more for purchase.

Being a graphic designer, I've used quite a few Photoshop actions in my day, and what I like about most of the free one's are that they aren't too over-the-top. I don't want to look like an alien or something unnatural. The action I used below is called Bitchin B&W (all the names are pretty awesome).

My cheesy face wishes you all a Happy Weekend!

These pics are from yesterday and I'm really excited to tell you about my new favorite restaurant. It's MacTarnahan's Taproom... a brewing company here in Portland, Oregon that has over 12 beers on draft! This excites me because I love beer! There are a lot of brewing companies in Oregon and I love when I get the chance to try them. Boyfriend and I couldn't decide on just one beer (I mean who could, with so many delicious choices), so we each got a sampler tray featuring 5 different beers of our choice. SCORE! I can honestly say, that I enjoyed every beer I got... that doesn't happen often. Not to mention, the food was amaaaazing! I will be going back soon... I saw they had a raspberry cider that I must try.

I'd like to also mention, that in my past "summer to-do list" post, I said I wanted to go to at least 4 breweries... this plus brew fest (which I'm counting), makes 2. So I have 2 more I must go to before summer ends. With so many options, this shouldn't be hard.

Have I mentioned that neon is one of my favorite trends this season? Well... now you know! The key to neon is working these bright, playful colors into your everyday wardrobe. You don't wanna look like you're from the 80s, right? If you're not use to these bright colors, start off small. A pair of neon shoes, or a neon belt & jewelry are a great starting point to add that extra pop of color. Once you've gotten use to these bright neons, start working more into your wardrobe.

With this outfit, I kept my shorts neutral, and decided to go crazy everywhere else!

I finally feel like it's summer! Oregon weather can be quite odd sometimes... and this summer is proving so. June was cold & wet. It wasn't until July that we started getting warmer weather. And now that it's August, it's been HOT! I'm not complaining though. I love this weather, although my apartment does get a bit hot. I think summer fashion is my favorite. The reason for this is, it doesn't have to be as put together. I also like that you can wear less items, and your outfit can still look complete. Its always nice when you can just throw on a cute sundress and flats and walk out the door. With this outfit, I did just that! Believe or not, I'm quite lazy.

Getting new shoes is soooo exciting! These brown wedges are from Payless. They were under $30, which I say is a good deal for shoes. They are pretty comfortable and I love that I can wear them with jeans, a skirt or a dress. They seem like they will be pretty easy to dress up or down. And they are a great camel color! 

On another note, my boss asked me today if I was wearing jeggings (my boss is a man, by the way). I responded "no", and then asked why he was wondering. He replied that he was excited because he finally knew what jeggings were and had just got his 1 year old daughter a pair. I thought this was pretty cute :)

I don't know why, but this outfit reminds me of melon... probably the color combo. If you remember, I mentioned a few posts ago, (here) that I was going to try harder to pair multiple colors together in one outfit. Well, here's my stab at it! Coral shorts and a striped mint & white top, plus some fun green sandals. I tried tying the outfit together with some matching colored jewelry.

 Today I decided to keep it simple and do an outfit in black and white. If you're ever having one of those days where you look in your closet and think "I have nothing to wear", this is a perfect strategy. I have A LOT of those days... Pairing black and white together is easy and classic. I threw in a little glitz with my shoes and jewelry, and "voila"!
