Old Navy is having a crazy awesome sale on all outerwear! I went this weekend and literally wanted to buy everything... but I somehow controlled myself and only bought this vest and a new coat. I wouldn't normally buy a bright red vest, but I was feeling adventurous and the mannequin looked so good in it, I thought why can't I? Red isn't really my favorite color, and I've always been told that I shouldn't wear red with my red hair, but I decided to break the rules here and go for, and I'm glad I did! Plus, it helped that it was on sale for only $15.

Funny story, when I first got home with my new vest, I thought, "wouldn't it be cute to wear this with a plaid shirt?" Great idea Anna! So I went ahead and tried it on... bad idea Anna! I looked like a hunter, ready to trek out in the forest. All I needed was a weapon. Of course I would never be able to hunt an animal... I would most likely start crying and feel too bad for poor Bambie. Lesson learned, bright red vest doesn't look good with plaid.

 I don't know about you, but when I'm feeling a lack of style inspiration, I check out Pinterest. One of my favorite sites! It's the perfect place to collect all those awesome images in one place. I categorize my fashion finds by season, so I can find looks quickly. This outfit was a bit of a copy cat from a blog I follow: vivaluxury. I decided to rock a similar look, but added my new infinity scarf in the mix.

I'm loving these new flared jeans I got from XXI. I've been searching forever for a pair that were long enough to wear with boots, and these are perfect. They have just the right amount of flare, I love the dark wash and they fit me really well. And to top it all off, they were only $11. What a great deal! Gosh, I love Forever 21!!!

If you read a lot of blogs, you've probably noticed how everyone is loving fall. Don't get me wrong, I love fall too, especially all the cute outfits... but with the seasons changing, so does the lighting. The pictures above are from about a week and a half ago. I love this lighting! These were talken in the evening, right after work. I love the warm, organey hue. Sadly, I was only able to get photos like these for about a week. And now it's already dark when I get home!

This is my first fashion blog during the fall and I'm learning that it's really hard to get home in time to take photos. It's also pretty dark in the morning before I go to work. When I first started blogging, I took my photos inside, but the lighting was horrible and I didn't like how they ended up looking, especially in my small apartment. So I moved outdoors.

 I may be posting fewer pics then normal for the next several months. I'm going to try my best to take lots of photos on the weekends though. 

Does anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions for getting well-lit outfit photos?

I love my chambray button up, especially for fall! I remember seeing them last year and thinking "I need one of those!" I purchased this last winter and I wear it all the time. The nice thing about chambray (and with most denim) is it goes with everything. I like my outfit here because its simple and comfortable. I bought this top a bit oversized because I liked the more casual look and the fact I could layer it with a lot and wear it with leggings.

I just bought these new mustard skinnies from Charlotte Russe! It was hard to decide which to get because there are so many great colors out there right now. I had it narrowed down to these and a maroon pair... both perfect for fall. But I ended up going with the mustard because I asked my boyfriends opinion and he said these ones. I don't give him enough credit in the fashion department, he definitely made the right decision for me. 

If you're looking for some colored denim, Charlotte Russe has a lot to choose from in different fits, styles and colors. These one's are called "skin tight leggings". Although they aren't really leggings... I would say they are more like jeggings, but less comfortable. They are definitely tight, but stretchy. The tank is also from Charlotte Russe. I found it in the sale section for only $5 and it's already my new fav! I'm also wearing my newer boots from Cathy Jean and a new sweater from Target... NEW, NEW, NEW! Can you tell I just went shopping? Now I'm all stocked up for fall.

fall/winter to-dos

This past summer I made a "Summer To-Do List", and surprisingly, I did almost all the things listed. It was really fun setting goals & achieving them. So I decided to do the same thing for Fall/Winter. I found a fall/winter guide to fun events and activities in the Portland area, so I'm starting with that, and I've picked out a few activities that I want to go to. I'm also including some food/drinks/restaurants I want to try & other goals for these cooler months.

Check It Out!

• Plan a winter trip up to Mt. Hood to my parents cabin with friends
• Attend a Blazer game
• Visit an art museum
• Zoo Lights (Nov. 26 - Jan. 2)
• Catch a movie at McMenamins Kennedy School
• Visit a corn maze/pumpkin patch
• Check out a local adult arcade like Ground Kontrol
• Go to a comedy club
• Attend a Christmas concert/musical/ballet such as The Nutcracker or Trans-Siberian Orchestra
• Host a game night
• Go to Pittock Mansion around Christmas time (Nov. 21 - Jan. 2)
• Ice skating (I've never been)
• Drink some beer at the Holiday Ale Fest (Nov. 28 - Dec. 2)
• Check out Halloween Town in St. Helen's Old Towne (weekends in October)
• Bake up some Halloween treats
• Tailgate and support my Beavers!

Can't wait to check out some of the awesome things Portland has to offer :)

 I love this outfit for fall! It's comfy and cozy. The leopard print scarf and boots finish it off. By the way, those boots are new from Cathy Jean, one of my favorite shoe stores. I've purchased 3 pairs of boots from them now, and I love them all! This pair is especially great for fall.
